Metropolitan Korniliy celebrated his Name Day

On the feast day of the icon of the Most Holy Theotokos of Vladimir, on the day celebrating the memory of the saints, Equal-to-the-Apostles tsar Constantine and his mother Elena, the head of the Church, His Eminence, metropolitan of Moscow and All Russia, Korniliy, celebrated his Name Day. This year, these memorable dates fell on the All Saints Week.

According to the custom on this day, bishop Korniliy led a hierarchical liturgy in the Intercession Cathedral in Rogozhsky. In attendance to celebrate this occasion were His Grace bishop Evmeniyi, bishop of Chisinau and All Moldova, archpriest Alexei Mikheyev, archpriest Artemon Shendrigailov, father Vasiliy Kadochnikov, father Mikhail Rozhkov, father Alexandr Pankratov, father Nikola Bobkov, father Maxim Andreyev and protodeacon Andrei Morzhakov

Metropolitan Korniliy celebrated his Name Day

Congratulations were given from the Rogozhsky community by the rector of the Intercession Cathedral, archpriest Victor Zheltsov. Father Nikola Bobkov, who came to congratulate bishop Korniliy after praying liturgy at the Pokrovsko-Uspensky church in Moscow’s Gavrikov pereulok, noted that the return of this church to the faithful was made possible largely thanks to a meeting between the metropolitan and the Russian President Vladimir Putin that took place exactly one year ago to the day.

After festively praying a perennity prayer and receiving the people’s congratulations in the Intercession Cathedral, the metropolitan shared a festive meal with the staff of the Metropolitanate and the parishioners of Rogozhsky.
