Matushka Tatyana, Wife of Father Alexey Losev from Tula, is Awarded a Badge of Honour “Mother’s Glory”, 2018

There are eight children in the family of father Alexey and matushka Tatyana: Marya, Evstafiy, Praskovya, Anna, Akilina, Nikola, Sergiy and the smallest member of this big and friendly family – Zosima, named after the famous saint of the Solovki monastery. He became one year old in August.

Father Alexey and matushka Tatyana met 13 years ago. After graduating from the university with speciality “Sewing Technology Engineer” Tatyana came to Moscow, to learn to sew church vestments, to the church, where her future husband was serving. There they got acquainted.

Father Alexey grew up in a regular Soviet family. When the 90-ies came, which were difficult years for many citizens of Russia, he came to faith, to the Old Believers’ church, where he started to learn history, attend various events and later was ordained a priest. Matushka Tatyana, on the contrary, is a hereditary Old Believer, who was born in Transnistria

They moved to Donskoy more than six years ago, when father Alexiy was appointed to the Tula Orthodox Old Believer community, where he serves as the dean of the church named after the Holy Hierarch John Chrysotom.

Matushka Tatyana is busy with children and household as it is traditional. All children are well-developed in all aspects. They are fond of music, sports, they have successfully participated in various contests and competitions, which is the merit of their mother. 

Matushka Tatyana has a hobby: she sews sarafans (traditional dress), povoyniks (traditional married women’s head cover), church vestments and clothes for all family. Parents teach their children discipline and respect for the older people. Each child in the family has his or her own duties: they help mother to set the table, to clean the house.

The big and friendly Losev family is an exemplary Old Believers’ family, which is to a large extent the merit of the keeper of the family hearth matushka Tatyana.
