Metropolitan Korniliy visited the parishes of Crimea

July 16, 2021

The labours of the first summer fast ended for the Primate of the Church in Crimea. Vladyka Korniliy led the Sunday service on July 10 and 11 at the Entry of the Most Holy Mother of God into the Temple Church in Simferopol.

It is a great joy for me to serve in this church again. Instead of the abomination of desolation that was here once, we see the glorious house of God. Huge gratitude to those who laboured for its revival, said the Metropolitan.

On the feast of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, the Metropolitan prayed in the village of Krasnokamenka. The church on the territory of the recreation complex in Krasnokamenka, consecrated in honour of the Supreme Apostles, celebrated its third patronal feast. The meeting of the Metropolitan on this day has also become a good tradition. Vladyka Korniliy noted good changes: the vineyards already bear fruit; flowerbeds are located around the temple.

The Divine service was beautiful and unusual. The youth choir from Rostov-on-Don sang under the leadership of Philipp Sevastyanov. Young men and girls from the parishes of Central Russia and Siberia joined it. Chants from old manuscripts sounded. The founder and trustee of the camp, Roman Stubblebine, is among those on the kliros. Little by little, he is mastering reading in Church Slavonic and is already reading the Psalm 50 (51).

Vladyka thanked Roman and his wife Anna for their efforts to labours in developing the children’s camp. This year the Krasnokamenka complex has already hosted one children’s shift. For the lovers of znamenny chant a “singers’” session was organized. There is one more arrival of children ahead; there will be the first experimental family shift.

Roman Stubblebine also thanked the Metropolitan and everyone who came to the celebration. The complex in Krasnokamenka is open for cooperation: the organizers have many plans that require ideas and working hands.
