According to custom in order to celebrate the bright Resurrection of Christ in the cathedral church Christians came not only from Moscow, but also from the Moscow region and other regions.
At 23:00 at the metropolitan chambers, a meeting of the bishop and the cathedral vestments took place. At midnight, a solemn procession of the cross was performed around the Intercession Cathedral.
On Bright Tuesday, April 26, at the end of the service the worshipers went to the bishop’s graves of the Rogozhskoe cemetery to glorify Christ by singing Easter on the graves of the deceased archpastors.
During the Bright Week, after the liturgy, a cross procession took place with the Paschal bread, Artos. On Bright Saturday the artos will be crushed and distributed to the worshipers. At the end of the procession, the saints’ relics in the cathedral were opened for worshipers to venerate.
