Biography of the Bishop of the Kazan-Vyatka diocese, Evfimiy (Dubinov)

Bishop Evfimiy (in the world – Yevgeny Evgenievich Dubinov) was born on August 20, 1959 in the village Shatki in the Nizhny Novgorod region. After leaving school, he served in the army, then worked for 26 years in various positions at VNIIEF, in the city of Arzamas.

In 1989, he graduated from the Moscow Institute of Engineering and Physics. He was a parishioner of the church of St. Nicholas in the city of Arzamas. In 2004, the future bishop was ordained a deacon in this church by metropolitan Andrian. In August 2005, he was transferred to serve in the Intercession Cathedral in the Rogozhskoe settlement in Moscow. For two years he worked as secretary of the Moscow Metropolitanate.

On September 9, 2006, he was elevated to the rank of priest in the parish of the Rogozhskoe Old-believer community in Moscow. In the 2006 consecrated Council in Belaya Krynytsia, he was confirmed as a candidate for bishop and on November 30, 2006, he was tonsured as a priest-monk. In 2007, he was sent to serve in the city of Lyskovo where he earned the love and respect of the parishioners. With them, father Evfimiy led the construction of a new stone church, which at the time of his episcopal consecration was almost completed.

On August 7, 2011, in memory of the righteous saint Anna and saint Macarius the wonderworker of Zheltovodsky and Unzhesky, His Eminence metropolitan Korniliy ordained the priest-monk Evfimiy as Bishop of the Kazan-Vyatka Diocese during the divine service at the Intercession Cathedral at Rogozhskoe.
